Schema Browser

Many times we need to find the collection ID of objects, even more times we need to find the exact name and type of a property of object. These are causing many administrators and developers of Service Optimization systems to open the Service Optimization Structure snap-in. SOMng includes new schema browser.

While still in development, this schema browser already comes with some significant advantages:

No Access To The Database

The schema browser is never accessing the database directly. It can work from remote client and it is not meant for changing the schema.

Loading Time

When opening SOMng it is already loading the system schema, so opening the schema browser is instantaneous. The left navigation tree is loaded efficiently and the UI is very responsive.

Stamp and Multi-Value Collections

Many of us know that Stamp and Multi-Value properties are implemented as collections. Even though in the database they implemented in different ways, in the API they have a lot in common. The schema browser includes All Collections node, which shows "child" collections too.

Actively Developed

The schema browser is in active development and will continue to improve. Already it can help by saving many unnecessary connections to the database. If you are a person that have the Structure snap-in opened all the time, this will save many minutes for you.
